Dr. Craighead received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Finance from the University of Florida and his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he was granted the excellence award for exemplifying excellence in character and clinical proficiency.
Dr. Craighead is a leader and educator in Gainesville for Periodontics, Prosthodontics, and Implant Dentistry, and is one among a small number of specialists worldwide with certificates in both specialties. He is a board certified Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontics. He earned specialty certificates in Periodontics and Prosthodontics, along with a fellowship certificate in Prosthodontics from the University of Florida College of Dental Medicine in Gainesville, Fl. He earned his Masters in Prosthodontics from the University of Florida, and became a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, in addition to completing extensive implant education as a graduate of the Misch Implant Institute and the Pikos Institute.

Honor as a chief surgical resident for outstanding dental achievements, service as an instructor, lecturer, and co-developer of the advanced surgical curriculums in the Department of Restorative Science, Graduate Prosthodontics at the University of Florida.
